Providing support and
information
Managed by EFDC’s Dementia Action Officer and the Chair of the
Epping Forest Dementia Friendly Community group, the project aims to
support and advise residents caring for loved ones with dementia across the
district. The project will run until April 2025, with weekly groups, in
various locations, to provide carers with information, advice, and respite
in a safe, friendly and supportive environment.
The first 4 week programme will be held in Buckhurst Hill at Roding
Valley Hall, Buckhurst Hill, IG9 6LN, Every Wednesday between 24 July 2024
to 14 August 2024, time: 10am to 12 noon.
There are 900,000 people currently living with dementia in the UK -
projected to be 1.6 million by 2040. An estimated 1,578 people live with
dementia in the Epping Forest district (NHS Aug 2023) supported by a family
member, friend or carer.
